Our Story

From Guinea's Fields
to Your Kitchen

Two Fulanis is the consumer brand of Two Fulanis, founded in Guinea — the world's leading producer of fonio. Our mission is to bring this exceptional grain to international tables while keeping its roots firmly in the communities that have grown it for generations.

The brand is named for its two Fulani sisters: Oumou Sow, who leads operations from Guinea and the United States, and Saran Sow, who drives international markets from Dubai and across Asia. Together they combine deep agricultural knowledge with global business reach.

Our fonio is grown on our own farmland in the Fouta Djallon and Faranah Region of Guinea, harvested by hand, then cleaned, steamed, dried and packaged in our fully operational processing facility in Forécariah — all to international food safety standards.

Our Farm in Guinea

From the Fields of the Fouta Djallon & Faranah Region

Our 20+ hectares of farmland in the Fouta Djallon and Faranah Region of Guinea produce some of the finest fonio in the world — harvested by hand, processed in our state-of-the-art facility in Forécariah, and packed for your table.

Farmers hand-harvesting fonio

Step 1 — Harvest

Our farmers hand-harvest ripe fonio stalks during the dry season in the Fouta Djallon and Faranah Region.

Step 2 — Bundle & Dry

Stalks are bundled and sun-dried in the field before threshing — a critical step for clean, odour-free grain.

Oumou Sow, Founder of Two Fulanis

Founder

Oumou Sow

Oumou Sow is the founder of Two Fulanis — a visionary entrepreneur with over two decades of healthcare experience and an MBA-backed business acumen. She founded the brand to bridge the gap between Guinea's extraordinary agricultural heritage and the growing global demand for clean, nutritious food.

Operating across continents with dedicated teams in Guinea and the United States, Oumou has established our farmland in the Fouta Djallon and Faranah Region, and our fully operational processing facility in Forécariah — processing up to 1,000 kg of fonio per hour.

Her mission is dual: bring the world the best fonio it has ever tasted, and ensure the Guinean farmers who grow it are fairly rewarded and sustainably supported.
